Black History Month: Ours to tell

In December 1995, the Hon. Jean Augustine introduced a motion which led to the official recognition of February as Black History Month.

This month presents an opportunity to both acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of Black communities to Canada, while also listening and raising awareness about the issues Black Canadians face.

As part of my commitment to serving all residents of the most diverse riding in Calgary, I was honoured to celebrate Black History Month in Calgary Skyview.

Celebrating our Flag

As a proud Canadian Member of Parliament, I want to thank everyone who celebrated National Flag of Canada Day on February 15th. I believe Canada is the greatest country in the world and I will always display our flag with pride.

The Canada flag symbolizes our nation’s unity, strength and diversity.

Funding Update

Our Liberal government has invested $4.9 million to upgrade active transportation infrastructure along 2.15 km of the 14 Avenue S and 15 Avenue S corridors in the Beltline.

This includes protected cycle tracks, pedestrian infrastructure, and widened sidewalks to enhance user safety, promote community health and wellness, and make downtown Calgary a better place to live.
