Thank you, Dr. Yanushkevich, for your kind introduction.

It's always great to be back here at the University of Calgary where I spent many years studying, learning and growing.

‍

This today is a very important announcement as a Calgarian and the Member of Parliament for Calgary Skyview, where one of Canada's busiest airports is located. I get excited by all things aerospace. And as our local aerospace industry continues to grow, I have the pleasure of working with impressive innovators, businesses, and educators who are helping to put Calgary on the map, both nationally and globally. These are the people who actually need to have their heads in the clouds as they work to help fill the growing demand for skilled workers in aerospace, as well as innovate behind the scenes to improve success rates for startups. Their work translates into creating and supporting the jobs of thousands of Albertans. And beyond the province, I see the important roles they play through their leading edge training programs, and development of products and services for international markets.

Our government is continuing to support these industries such as aerospace, that contribute to our province's economy and create jobs for Albertans. This morning, it gives me great pleasure to introduce the Honourable Dan Vandal, the Minister for PrairiesCan, who is once again back here in Alberta to make an important federal announcement that will greatly benefit Calgary's aerospace industry and grow our economy. Please join me in welcoming Minister Vandel to the podium a great western Canadian leader and a partner at our Cabinet table advocating for all of us. (Applause.)
